In densely populated urban areas, it’s common to see the repurposing of older buildings to give them a new lease of life. In Sydney, this was the case in the construction of a luxury office building in the heart of the CBD.

During construction the Contractor discovered a major asbestos presence that would have large ramifications, completely changing the sequence and process of the planned construction.

Industry: Commercial Building

Accura expert: Paul McArd

With construction delayed, the Contractor required a forensic quantity surveyor who had experience as an Expert Witness to provide an independent review of the claims merits and provide a report to the executive leadership within a short period of time and turned to Accura Consulting.

Structured to be agile and provide tailored solutions, Accura Consulting provided an independent valuation to the claims and provided an opinion on entitlements which allowed the Contractor to confidently proceed with a commercial strategy.

Our Expert provided an easy-to-understand opinion which outlined the weaknesses in the Contractor’s original claim but highlighted previously missed areas that needed to be focussed on.

Accura Consulting became an integral part of the Contractor’s delivery strategy to help move the project forward whilst protecting their rights and overall bottom line.
