A major highway upgrade project to introduce 20 kilometre of dual carriageway including bridges over rivers and flood plains, completed in mid-2018.

The large project with multiple stakeholders experienced significant variations to the contract works, float ownership issues, latent conditions, and quality management issues. The extent of the issues resulted in an extensive claim for quantum and time.

Accura Consulting’s forensic quantum and delay experts were retained by the Design and Construct JV to help prosecute the claim and settle the dispute.

Our team undertook an extensive review of entitlement provisions contained within the conditions of contract to justify the JV’s contractual position, before then setting out the entitlement in an extensive claim document.

As part of our tailored solution, we undertook a forensic analysis to collate and review pertinent project information including site diaries and the cost ledger.

Important to the claim was our ability to provide robust identification of direct and in-direct costs and producing cost schedules as part of the claim for quantum.

The result of our work was the successful agreement of a settlement between the JV and client using claim documents produced by Accura Consulting.
